Position

Govedartsi is the second largest ski village in the ski area Borovets. The village lies 1100 meters above sea level and has approximately 1800 inhabitants. Its located 66 km south of Sofia, 20 km west of Borovets and 10 km south west of Samokov.

Borovets
Borovets is the oldest and largest winter sport area of Bulgaria. It lies 1350 meters above sea level, on the North slopes of the Rila Mountain. Borovets attracts ski tourists by its 18 ski slopes, with a total length of 60 km, and its sociable centre full of fun.

Also located along the slopes are enough restaurants where you can eat deliciously at a reasonable price.

The ski season starts in the middle of December and ends in April. Borovets has excellent conditions to enjoy a wonderful winter sport holiday.

Rila mountains
The Rila Mountain in the west of Bulgaria is the highest mountain in the Balkan. The highest top is the Moesala (2925 meters).

The national park Rila is located 100 km south of Sofia and is the largest national park of Bulgaria. It includes the highest and most central lain store in the Rila Mountain. In the park hosts a habitat for (rare) wild animals, such as bear, wild hogs, stags, falcons and eagles. There are also several historical cultural places, of which the Rila Monastery (UNESCO) is the most known. The monument is a characteristic example of the Bulgarian Renaissance (18th–19th centuries) and symbolizes an awareness of a Slavic cultural identity following centuries of occupation.

In the wintertime the Rila Mountain is snow-certain from half December till March.
